I'd click, and the system acted as if I was holding the mouse down. Half the time it was as if the mouse (or perhaps the receiver cradle) would not detect a mouse up event. I tried both channels, and as I said above, most of the functions worked fine. Where I had problems was in basic (left) clicking.
